National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week - January 25-31, 2016

During National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week, January 25-31, the Grandview Heights Schools and community have many events planned to share resources, information, and opportunities for involvement.

Tyler's Light (http://tylerslight.com)  is doing a presentation for Grandview Heights High School students on Tuesday, January 26, at 8 a.m. in the auditorium.  Community members are welcome to attend.  This organization's mission is to equip communities with information and resources to help people choose a drug-free life, while providing resources for those involved in the battle against addiction.

A Community Forum will be hosted by Start Talking Grandview on Tuesday, January 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Grandview Heights Public Library. Start Talking Grandview is a local group of concerned community members who are taking an active role to reduce drug and alcohol abuse through coordinated outreach, awareness, and education.  Drug abuse prevention experts, local police, and OSU young adults will share personal stories of addition and recovery.  Learn more at http://www.starttalkinggrandview.org. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

For Grandview Heights High School students, a Youth to Youth (Y2Y) club is now forming.  Y2Y (http://www.youthtoyouth.net) was founded in Columbus in 1982 and is now an international organization that engages young people to develop and implement ideas to create positive change in the school and in the community, and to help others make healthy decisions through activities and mentoring opportunities.  If interested, please contact Grandview Heights High School Counselor Bryan Stork for more information at [email protected]
