School Fees 2016-2017

In an effort to create a more inclusive and equitable environment for the entire district, the Grandview Heights Schools Board of Education voted to eliminate all pay-to-participate costs, as well as school fees for the 2016-2017 school year, at its July 7, 2016, meeting.

“Over 70% of our students participate in athletics and over 44% participate in music and theater and 41% of our students participate in both. Removing this cost from the families will provide financial relief while creating equity with respect to access,” Superintendent Andy Culp said. “We are happy that cost for participation will never be a factor for any of our families with children who want to join a team, act in a play, or perform in the marching band.”

Families will still need to purchase their own school supplies for the upcoming school year, but taking away the cost of pay-to-participate and school fees was an important step towards creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for our students and families.

“Extracurricular activities are a vital part of students’ education and can create an avenue that will allow them to become more engaged while building critical soft skills for success in life,” Culp added. “Waiving all fees is one more way the district is helping to provide an excellent education for all students.”
