Staff Recognition

Battelle for Kids recently recognized Megan Brady, a 21st Century Learning Coach and Technology Integration Specialist from Grandview Heights Schools, as a distinguished educator for her tremendous impact on students, colleagues, and community. Brady was among 33 teachers from across Ohio to receive the 2017 Celebrate Teaching Distinguished Educator Award as a representative of excellence in the teaching profession. The awards were presented during a program at the Educators Connect for Success Conference in Columbus in June.

Celebrate Teaching is Battelle for Kids’ commitment to celebrate, support, and inspire great teaching. Since 2012, the organization has recognized nearly 300 outstanding teachers with the Distinguished Educator Award who have shown powerful results in the classroom.

“This recognition is a reminder to all that teachers impact students in so many ways by helping them to grow academically, socially, and emotionally,” said Dr. Karen K. Garza, President and CEO of Battelle for Kids. “Congratulations to all the outstanding teachers in the 2017 Class of Distinguished Educators, and thank you for your work as a representative of the thousands of teachers across Ohio who give so selflessly of themselves to teach our children.”

The 2017 Class of Distinguished Educators were selected for demonstrating evidence of great teaching in multiple ways—including academic, non-cognitive, and community measures. “Megan is an exemplary educator in all domains of her professional work. She puts students and staff at the center of all she does within the district,” said Chief Academic Officer Dr. Jamie Lusher.

“Megan's humble disposition coupled with her innovative and progress thinking about providing applied learning for our students helps create amazing learning environments for our students,” added Superintendent Andy Culp.
