Learning and Technology

In Fall 2014, Grandview Heights High School launched a program that provides each student in grades 9 through 12 a Chromebook laptop computer for use at school and home. The program goal is to create a learning environment that allows seamless and consistent access to technology thus linking students to the world’s learning resources.

This initiative provides opportunities for teachers and students to expand their learning environment beyond the school day and the school building. For students to succeed in a global environment, they must collaborate with others, communicate effectively, think critically and be able to transfer their learning to new situations and environments. The initiative goal is to engage students in rigorous and relevant learning opportunities in every classroom, every day, and to prepare students for jobs yet to come.

Throughout the school year teachers will work with the technology integration team and students to design instruction that aligns with student learning goals and takes full advantage of the devices.
