Sixth graders have been studying basic biology including cells and their organelles. As a culminating activity students were asked to create their own model using a theme of their choice to represent a cell and its organelles. All organelles needed to not only tie in with the theme, but represent the organelle's function in a similar way. Students displayed a great deal of creativity in choosing their themes and huge amounts of detail in their finished products. A great time was had by all.
