The Grandview Heights Board of Education is pleased to announce it has selected Andrew Culp as the district's next superintendent.
Culp has 16 years of experience in the field of education and currently serves as the assistant superintendent of Marysville Schools. Prior to joining Marysville, Culp spent 10 years as an administrator in the New Albany-Plain Local School District. He has a bachelor's degree in political science from Miami University, a master's degree in education from The Ohio State University, and is finalizing his doctoral studies at Ohio University.
"We are thrilled to welcome Andy to Grandview Heights," said board president Grant Douglass. "Throughout the search, community members and our staff consistently reminded us of the importance of selecting an individual who would bring strong leadership, vision, and direction to our district. Andy's experience and skills are a perfect fit."
Culp says he has always seen Grandview Heights as a special place.
"Grandview is a fantastic district in a wonderful community. There is a very strong educational foundation in place here and I'm truly honored to have the opportunity to build upon that."
The board conducted a thorough search process that began in January and included gathering input from more than 200 residents and staff members.
"We had more than 30 candidates apply and the feedback from parents, community members, and the staff was truly invaluable as we navigated our way through the selection process," said Douglass.
The Grandview Heights Board of Education will vote on Culp's appointment to the position of superintendent during a special meeting on Tuesday, April 22, at 6:00 p.m. in the Brotherhood of Rooks Media Center at Grandview Heights High School, 1587 West Third Avenue.
Culp will assume full-time duties on July 1. An open-house reception is planned for May.
