Grandview Heights High School athletes Calvin Furbee and Johnny Volker signed letters of intent that will take their athletic careers to the college level. Furbee will swim Division III for Emory University in Atlanta, while Volker will play soccer for Division II Ohio Dominican University.
Furbee's accomplishments to date include:
- 3 –year Varsity Letter Winner Swimming & Diving
- GHHS Most Valuable Swimmer (10,11 & 12)
- MSL – 1st Team (10, 11, 12)
- Holds 6 individual school records in swimming
- Set 2 OHSAA District Records (200 Fr & 500 Free)
- State qualifier – (3 years)
- Team Captain – senior year
- Scholar/Athlete (3 years)
- USA Swimming Scholastic All-American (11)All American Academic, (12)
Volder's accomplishments to date include:
- 4-Year Varsity Letter Winner in Soccer
- 4-Year Scholar Athlete
- All League 2016-17
- State Runner Up Team – (9)
- Final Four team - (12)
