Student-Athletes

A big crowd gathered this week in the Grandview Heights High School Brotherhood of Rooks Media Center to watch Bobcat student-athletes, Nina Amicon, Cody Cook, and Gavin Van Horn sign athletic commitments for their respective universities. Amicon will run Cross Country and Track & Field for Roosevelt University in Chicago (NAIA), Cook will play football for Keystone College in their inaugural season (NCAA Division III), and Van Horn will play baseball for Capital University (NCAA Division III).

Here are some highlights from these great Bobcat student-athletes:

Amicon is a 2-year letter winner in cross country and track & field; participates on the Soccer, Basketball & Swimming Teams, was named Most Valuable Runner Cross Country her junior year & senior years, 2017 & 2018 MSL 1stst Team in Cross Country, MSL 2ndTeam and Honorable Mention in Track & Field, recipient of the Wayne Roller Scholar Athlete Award, and is a Cross Country team captain.

Cook is a 3-Year Varsity Letter Winner Football, 1-Year Varsity Letter Winner in Baseball, participated on the Wrestling Team for 1 year, was MSL 2ndTeam in Football (senior year), and Honorable Mention ALL District in Football (senior year).

Van Horn is a 3-year Varsity Letter Winner in Baseball, 2-year Varsity Letter Winner in Cross Country, participated on the Golf Team (junior year), MSL 2nd Team Cross Country (sophomore year), MSL Honorable Mention in Baseball (sophomore year), and MSL 2ndTeam in Baseball (junior year).
