Grandview Heights Schools band programs are in full swing this week with three concerts open to the community.

The GHHS Concert Band's Winter Concert will be Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in the GHHS Auditorium.  Members of the Concert Band will be featured on this “Prism” concert.  A prism concert presents all the colors and timbres the concert band has to offer.  This includes chamber music by each section as well as prepared repertoire by the full ensemble.  This concert will offer the listener a different perspective on formal concert music.

The Middle School band concerts will be Wednesday, March 13. Grades 5-6 will perform at 6 p.m. and Grades 7-8 will perform at 7 p.m. in the GHHS Auditorium. Students must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to concert start time.

On Thursday, March 14, at 7 p.m. the Jazz Ensemble will present a Featured Artist Concert.  The Jazz Ensemble welcomes nationally-renowned tenor saxophonist Bryan Olsheski as featured guest artist ( http://www.bryanolsheski.com/biography/ )   Members of the Jazz Ensemble have been preparing repertoire from varying styles in big band jazz as well as working with Bryan in rehearsals leading up to the performance.  It has been a fantastic opportunity for our students to work with him!
