Congratulations!

At the recent Pelotonia Night of Impact celebration held at COSI, the total amount of fundraising was announced and highlights of the year were shared.  One such highlight being that 2019 was the first year for high school teams to participate in the ride.

The Grandview Heights High School Pelotonia Team of Emmalyn Kukura, Eleanor Kukura, Claire Dugas, Izzy Evans, and Lisa DeVere were recognized as one of only three high school teams and as the top fundraisers of the three high school teams.  The GHHS Team, a 100% student led effort, raised $15,821.81 for cancer research followed by Upper Arlington High School Men’s Lacrosse at $15,040 and Columbus School for Girls at $10,404.

Emmalyn Kukura and Dugas rode 50 miles and Eleanor Kukura, Liza Devere, and Izzy Evans each rode 25 miles.  All five women did their share of fundraising, too.  A true team effort!  Congratulations!

Nearly 14,000 cyclists, virtual riders, and volunteers helped set a new participation record while raising $23.2 million in 2019.  In its 11 years, Pelotonia has raised $207 million for research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.
