GHHS Model UN

Congratulations to our GHHS Model UN Team comprised of Sabrina Li, Stephanie Chute, Skylar Binning, Maggie Wessel, Finn McKelvey, Ronan Hayes, Dean Colahan, and Aleksander Sletten, along with Advisor Emily Mascia,  who competed at the February 2024 prestigious University of Chicago Model United Nations Conference. Our students collaboratively debated with delegates from across the US, refining their public-speaking and communication skills and becoming more confident global citizens.  Congratulations to Ronan Hayes and Sabrina Li who received the second highest award in their committees out of over 2,500 high school students!

As well, in December 2023 Sabrina Li served as the Ohio Model United Nations Conference Council President representing Grandview Heights High School. Li was one of 22 candidates chosen by 1,200+ conference members to host the Ohio MUN and had the privilege to speak in front of the entire conference.

As Council President, Li’s role was to chair over a committee, and help them discuss, debate, and pass resolutions, and to assist with running the overall conference. The 2023 conference was the biggest conference Ohio MUN has had since COVID-19 with over 2000+ conference members.

Ohio Model United Nations is a student-led, three-day global education simulation experience that allows students to learn about the complete operations of the United Nations and its role as the world’s international peacekeeping and humanitarian organization. Students become delegates of a selected nation in order to write, present and debate issues affecting the nations and peoples of the world.
