My name is Andy Culp, and I have the good fortune and privilege of serving as the Superintendent of Grandview Heights Schools. For the last three years, we have engaged in a comprehensive facility planning process with our community.  That includes over 3,600 community touch points.  During that process, we started with eight varying options,  We have engaged the community in community meetings, surveys...and we've narrowed it down to one.  Then we engaged a Financial advisory committee who vetted that even further, to come up with the scope (and) the cost projections for what my recommendation was to the plan.  So this really is a community plan.  A one-mill operating, plus a fifty-five million dollar bond capital improvement project. Comprehensive Renovations of Grandview Heights High School, a state-of-the-art new 4-8 building built on or near the current site of Edison Larson Middle School, and then K-12 safety and security for all buildings we have over 45 million dollars in deferred maintenance K-12.  Successful passage of this bond issue will allow for us to address that, and not have to divert operating dollars to address our capital improvements. And that is significant because, at the end of the day, our mission in Grandview Heights Schools is to maximize and personalize students learning.  If we have to divert operating dollars to capital improvements, we're going to have to evaluate and prioritize programming and staffing. This bond issue allow us to preserve excellence in the classroom every day, for every single student that walks through the school doors.
